# Complete Guide to Regular Internships and Vocational Work Placements at the Secretariat General of the DPR RI

Stepping into the professional realm while still pursuing your education is one of the most effective ways to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical execution. Recognizing the incredible enthusiasm among high school and university students eager to support their educational curriculums, the Center for Legislative HR Competency Development at the Secretariat General of the Indonesian House of Representatives (Setjen DPR RI) actively facilitates structured internship and vocational work placement programs.

These initiatives are carefully designed to immerse students directly into the legislative work environment, equipping them with invaluable industry insights, administrative acumen, and professional confidence.

## Understanding the Programs

The institution primarily facilitates two distinct pathways tailored to different educational tiers:

* Regular Internship Program: Specifically structured for undergraduate university students. This program allows scholars to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired on campus directly to real-world government operations and administrative workflows.
* Vocational Work Placement (PKL): Tailored specifically for senior high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK) students. This placement introduces younger learners to professional environments, helping them build foundational workplace ethics and practical skills.

Both tracks aim to thoroughly prepare participants for future career landscapes, with a particular focus on the dynamic public sector environment within the Secretariat General of the DPR RI.

## Enrollment Requirements

To ensure a seamless selection process, candidates must prepare specific administrative documents depending on their educational level.

Regular Internship Prerequisites
* An official internal memo or recommendation letter confirming acceptance from a specific work unit within the Setjen DPR RI.
* An official university introduction letter addressed to the Head of the Center for Legislative HR Competency Development of the Setjen DPR RI. This document must clearly state the internship objective, implementation schedule, and chosen research topic.
* Current Study Plan Card (KRS) and Academic Transcript or Study Result Card (KHS).
* An updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
* Two printed 2x3 cm photographs featuring a red background.
* A photocopy of the student ID card (KTM) or national identity card (KTP).
* A comprehensive Motivation Letter outlining personal strengths, weaknesses, core competencies, motivations for applying, future expectations, and the preferred work unit.

Vocational Work Placement (PKL) Prerequisites
* An official internal memo or recommendation letter from a Setjen DPR RI work unit.
* An official school introduction letter addressed to the Head of the Center for Legislative HR Competency Development.
* A professional Curriculum Vitae (CV).
* Two printed 2x3 cm photographs with a red background.
* A photocopy of the student ID card, official school enrollment verification, or national ID card.

## Program Schedules and Batches

Participants typically commit to a foundational duration of one month. However, placements may be extended for a maximum of two additional months, subject to the direct approval of the assigned work unit. The annual calendar is divided into four distinct intake batches:

* Batch I: January 01 – March 31
* Batch II: April 01 – June 30
* Batch III: July 01 – September 30
* Batch IV: October 01 – December 31

## Registration Workflow

The application process is fully digitized to ensure accessibility and efficiency.

1. Online Submission: Prospective candidates must register digitally. Applicants applying as a group must fill out individual forms separately. All mandatory application documents must be submitted no later than 30 calendar days before the intended start date.
2. Notification of Acceptance: Successful applicants will receive an official digital reply letter alongside onboarding instructions transmitted via WhatsApp Business. Confirmation of acceptance is typically issued within 14 working days following the close of registration.

## Onboarding and Workplace Code of Conduct

On Day One, interns and vocational students must report physically to collect their official ID cards at the Managerial and Sociocultural Competence Development Division (Bidang MSK), located on the 4th floor, Room 412, within the Setjen DPR RI Building.

While on-site, all participants must strictly adhere to the professional standards and behavioral guidelines enforced by the institution:

* Embody the core values of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI, summarized as BERAKHLAK (Service-Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative).
* Demonstrate a foundational understanding of the DPR RI's institutional functions.
* Practice the 5S philosophy (Smile, Greetings, Salutation, Politeness, and Hospitality) throughout the compound.
* Maintain a neat, professional dress code:
* Wear formal fabric trousers instead of denim jeans.
* Wear collared button-down shirts instead of casual t-shirts.
* Wear professional closed-toe shoes rather than sandals.
* Keep hair well-groomed and neatly trimmed (mandatory for male participants).
* Adhere strictly to official office hours:
* Arrival: Promptly at 08:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
* Departure (Monday to Thursday): Promptly at 16:00 WIB.
* Departure (Friday): At 16:30 WIB (subject to unit-specific adjustments).
* Participate actively in team projects and daily tasks within the assigned unit. In the event of an unavoidable absence, participants must immediately notify and coordinate with their placement supervisor.

## Program Completion and Certification

Upon reaching the final day of the tenure, participants must submit their completion reports digitally via the designated portal (`s.id/SelesaiMagangPKL`) to the Bidang MSK. Required exit documentation includes:

* An official internal memo verifying the completion of the program issued by the respective work unit.
* Performance evaluations and final grades provided by the placement unit.
* Personal program testimonials.
* Final project reports and supporting documentation.

Once administrative clearance is verified, participants will receive a formal Digital Certificate of Completion and an official Letter of Reference.
