# Career Opportunity: Local Staff Position at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tokyo
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Tokyo serves as the primary diplomatic and consular mission representing Indonesia’s interests in Japan and the Federated States of Micronesia. Dedicated to fostering robust bilateral relations, the Embassy actively collaborates with government officials, stakeholders, and international partners to promote economic and diplomatic cooperation. Located at 5-2-9 Higashi Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 141-0022, the Embassy also oversees the Consulate General in Osaka and maintains Honorary Consuls in Fukuoka and Sapporo.
To strengthen its Economic Function, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tokyo is currently inviting qualified Indonesian (WNI) and Japanese (WN Jepang) nationals to apply for a Local Staff position.
## Candidate Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and a strong interest in economic diplomacy. To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Age: Must be between 25 and 40 years old.
* Residency: Must hold a valid identification card and a current Japanese work visa (student or intern visas are not accepted).
* Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (S1), preferably in Economics, Development Economics, Business/Management, International Trade, International Relations, Economic Law, or Statistics.
* Language Proficiency:
* For Indonesian Nationals: Must possess a Japanese language proficiency level of at least N2 (supported by a certificate).
* For Japanese Nationals: Must demonstrate proficiency in Indonesian and English, validated through certificates or an interview with the Embassy's Personnel Team.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as graphic design experience using Canva.
* Legal Standing: Must possess a clean criminal record in both Indonesia and Japan, and hold a valid Japanese driver's license.
* Professional Integrity: Candidates must have no conflict of interest (familial or professional) with current Embassy staff and must be prepared to declare and manage any such potential conflicts.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in government agencies, foreign missions, chambers of commerce, economic research institutions, or Japanese corporations.

9. A brief analytical essay (max 2 pages, Arial 11, 1.5 spacing) regarding an Indonesia-Japan economic issue.
10. Two recent 4x6 color photographs (white background).

Selection Stages
